3.2 Release Notes

This update focuses on serverless workload coverage, forecasting and cost display refinements, and navigation quality-of-life improvements across the product. Serverless DLT pipelines now have dedicated analysis, drilldown views, and success criteria integration.

Forecasting defaults to a more useful six-month window, cost scaling is capped at terabytes, and discount rate management gains a new update flow.

Serverless Pipelines & Analysis

Expanded serverless pipeline support with new analysis capabilities, drilldown views, and success criteria integration.

  • Serverless pipeline analysis — added pipeline analysis from system.query.history to capture serverless DLT execution data

  • Serverless DLT in success criteria — data processed by serverless DLT pipelines is now included in success criteria calculations

  • Serverless pipelines drilldown — added a dedicated drilldown view for serverless pipeline cost and execution details

  • Pipeline name resolution — fixed pipeline name returning null when since/until date parameters are provided

Spend Insights & Forecasting

Improved cost display accuracy, new discount management, and a more useful default forecasting view.

  • Last 6 months default — the Forecasting page now defaults to a "Last 6 months" view for more relevant trend visibility

  • Discount rate updates — added interface support to update Databricks unit discount rates directly from the application

  • Cost scale capped at TB — the Cost & Data Usage widget now limits its scale to terabytes instead of petabytes for more readable display

Workflows & Navigation

  • Pipelines tab URLs — refactored the Pipelines tab so each sub-tab has a unique URL, enabling direct linking and proper browser back-button behavior

  • SQL Warehouses tab URLs — refactored SQL Warehouses view so each sub-tab has a unique URL for direct linking

  • APC filter isolation — fixed All-Purpose Compute filters being incorrectly passed between tabs

  • Optimization Review navigation — added navigation from Optimization Review to the One-Time Runs view

  • Pipeline incident workload link — fixed "Open Workload" for AM Pipeline incidents opening Pipeline Updates with one day before the expected date

Top Recommendations

Design updates and accuracy fixes for the recommendations experience.

  • Redesigned Recommendation per Cluster view — updated the header design and links layout on detail page for improved readability

  • Structured recommendation fields — root cause and recommendation summary are now exposed as separate service fields for cleaner display and integration

  • Recommendations count fix — fixed the Recommendations count not matching the actual recommendations shown on more detailed levels

  • Cost per data unit scaling — fixed cost per data unit not being scaled correctly and consistently across views

Reporting & Visual Clarity

Targeted fixes for histogram display, data formatting, and analysis stats.

  • Activity histogram display — fixed cluster instance activity histogram showing the wrong display subset when changing context

  • Analysis Stats dates in UTC — Analysis Stats card now displays dates in UTC for consistency

  • Telemetry analysis filters — fixed filter options in Telemetry Analysis History for Pipeline Cluster events not matching existing columns

 

Deployment & Setup

New repair capabilities, provisioning reliability improvements, and monitoring configuration updates.

  • Skip serverless-only provisioning — job clusters without tasks or with only serverless tasks are now excluded from provisioning

  • Workspace Files color indicator — the provisioning page now uses a distinct color when "Workspace Files" is selected for monitoring

  • SQL Warehouse config guidance — clarified the "SQL Warehouse" configuration description for system tables setup

  • Grant Billing Reader fix — fixed the "Grant Billing Reader" button not working on the settings page

CSV & Data Export

Export naming and column improvements.

  • Workspace Cost CSV columns — added CSV column breakdown for pipelines and SQL warehouses on the Workspace Cost export

  • Consistent export icon — unified the "Export to CSV" icon across all pages

  • Success criteria file naming — updated success criteria CSV file naming to use the blueprint.lho prefix

 

Notifications & Administration

License awareness, documentation updates, and user activity improvements.

  • License expiry alert — users now see a 7-day license expiration warning on login with dates formatted as "MMM D, YYYY"

  • Incident policy documentation — updated in-app documentation for Incident Policies

 

UI Polish

Selector styling, Pools sorting, and forecast engine fixes.

  • APC selector styling — fixed selectors style on APC reporting tabs where the app ID box appeared attached to the search box

  • Pools sort fix — fixed "No enum constant" error caused by Active VMs Cost sort from the Pools page

  • Databricks commit fixes — miscellaneous Databricks commit corrections
